Aroldis Chapman pitched five complete innings in his second game with the AAA Louisville Bats. He allowed one hit, a double by Brian Biller, and one earned run. He gave up four bases on balls and struck out one batter. His pitching count total for the five innings was 87; 48 strikes and 39 balls. At times he did not have much control of the baseball.
Five times he was cloaked at 100 mph in the radar gun, and two of his pitches reached 102mph.
Aroldis was the loser of the game and Yohan Pino, of the Columbus Clippers, was the winner. Chapman’s record now is zero wins and one loss. His cumulative ERA after two games with the Louisville Bats is 0.93.
Aroldis is scheduled to pitch again on Thursday 4/22/2010 at Indianapolis.
