Cuban pitcher Aroldis Chapman won last night his first game with the AAA Louisville Bats. He pitched 5.1 innings against the Indianapolis Indians, allowing three hits, one of them a double, and was charged with one unearned run.
He threw 95 pitches, 54 of them strikes, and 41 balls. He struck out eight batters and gave five bases on balls. He had two wild pitches and faced 23 batters. He also connected his first single in the Minor Leagues.
Although he pitched much better than in his second outing, he is still giving out too many free passes to first base. The Louisville Bats supported him with seven hits and four runs while he was on the mound. Aroldis cumulative ERA after three games is 0.60. His record now is one win and one loss.
