The race for Cuba’s home run leader is getting very close and exciting in the 50th National Baseball Series.
Right now, Las Tunas player Joan Carlos Pedroso and Granma player Yoennis Céspedes are tied with 26 home runs each, followed very closely by Cienfuegos player Jose Dariel Abreu, who has been disabled with bursitis for a long period of time. Abreu has 25 home runs.
There is no doubt in my mind that Cuba’s home run record in a baseball season, which is 32, will fall this year.
Who will do it?
